Job summary

BlackFish Federal LLC seeks a Team Lead for Material Handlers to support NARA on a warehouse operations contract in Valmeyer, IL. The role blends leadership with hands-on material handling duties in a labor-intensive environment.

You will supervise 10–12 staff, ensure accuracy and timeliness, train personnel, maintain security and safety standards, and coordinate with the client and COR. Daily tasks include locating and staging containers, tracking batches, and preparing documents for scanning.

Qualifications

• 3 years of directly related experience working at NARA or similar environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of Team Lead responsibilities.
• Ability to motivate, guide and inspire others, delegate tasks effectively and foster collaboration.
• Comfortable leading a team of 10-12 employees.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to lift 30-50 lbs regularly.
• Able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• This contract requires U.S. citizenship.
• High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the client or client point-of-contact to discuss logistics as necessary.
• Monitor work for accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency and coordinate with Government personnel.
• Ensure personnel follow Standards of Conduct, personnel, and security requirements.
• Serve as liaison between contract personnel and client; escalate issues to COR/Project Manager as appropriate.
• Ensure all personnel sign in/out daily and their times are recorded; verify weekly totals.
• Remain on site during work performance with limited exceptions.
• Learn and understand work processes to assist with training personnel.
• Ensure labor tasks are completed within production standards.
• Perform Labor tasks for Material Handler personnel as assigned.
• Locate containers/folders using pull lists; use pulpit ladders up to 15 feet.
• Remove containers; verify pull list accuracy; report discrepancies; initial and deliver docs.
• Place containers on streamliners; ensure orientation and visible IDs.
• Move records to Disposal Review Area; palletize, label, shrink wrap as needed.
• Validate space requirements; load and transport records; shelve non-disposable records.
• Retrieve batched requests and sign-out in logbook; record start times.
• Locate requested file; pull, mark, audit, sign-in batches with completion times.
• Retrieve documents for scanning; verify hardware settings; convert to digital; rescan as needed.
• Use handheld data entry to assist with box lists; verify data and daily totals.
