About Carvana

At Carvana, we sell cars, but we are not salespeople. We have made it our mission to create a hassle-free way for people to buy and sell cars. We saw a huge problem with how much of a headache it is to buy a car the traditional way, so we committed ourselves to put customer satisfaction at the core of our business. We have built a no-pressure, no-haggle online car buying experience that saves our customers time and money. Customers can search through thousands of vehicles online, see full 360-degree views of both the interior and exterior of the vehicles before deciding to go through the purchasing process. Our Customer Advocates will then either deliver the purchased vehicle to our customer’s driveway using one of our kick-ass one car haulers, or they will meet our customers at one of our amazing coin-operated Vending Machines.

Job Description

The Team Lead, in our Market Operations group, is responsible for running the local Carvana hub and everything that comes with it, including market launch, operations, logistics, consumer branding, team engagement and effectiveness, and the market’s ongoing success. We are looking for someone who is a big picture thinker with the ability to manage the employee and customer experience. A Team Lead not only crushes daily operations, but also proactively assesses business trends and creates solutions to potential roadblocks. Strong leadership and development skills are essential, as the role involves guiding a team of talented Customer Advocates and providing vision and growth opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Be a continuous positive force within the market and create strong morale and spirit throughout the team.
  2. Help interview, select, onboard, and train a team of Customer Advocates, providing the tools, resources, and guidance they need to succeed. Employee development is key.
  3. Develop your team through feedback, performance check-ins, and goal setting to enhance performance and skills.
  4. Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools and creative recognition methods.
  5. Generate and monitor reports, and present findings to upper management.
  6. Act as the go-to expert for your team, including participating in car washes or delivering cars to customers while ensuring a stellar customer experience.
  7. Drive production in a fast-paced environment, keeping market operations running smoothly.
  8. Seek continuous improvement in customer and team experiences.
  9. Address and manage complex and sensitive customer-facing issues effectively.
What You Should Have
  1. 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing team environment
  2. 3+ years of management experience
  3. Proven ability to develop and coach employees
  4. Experience with strategic planning, process improvement, and exceeding goals
  5. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  6. Problem-solving skills with a focus on customer experience
  7. Willingness to work on weekends
  8. Enthusiasm and energy for a startup environment where roles evolve

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Experience with Salesforce or Tableau
  3. Analytical mindset
  4. Logistics handling experience
