Job summary

Rent a Recruiter is seeking a Team Lead – Low Voltage Switchgear Technician to lead LV technicians, coordinate daily tasks and site priorities across critical power projects.

You will support commissioning across the US East region and wider Americas, review wiring diagrams and ladder logic, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering on time with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems, switchgear or commissioning.
• Experience with LV switchgear, remote power panels, and distribution units.
• NFPA 70 and OSHA 10 certifications.
• Willingness to travel nationwide with some international trips.

We’re looking for an experienced Team Lead – Low Voltage Switchgear Technician to join our team

• Leading and supporting LV technicians, coordinating daily tasks and site priorities.
• Supporting commissioning projects across the US East region and wider Americas.
• Working with low‑voltage switchgear, remote power panels and power distribution units.
• Carrying out Level 2 installation verification, Level 3 start‑ups and Level 4 commissioning.
• Providing technical support to clients and third‑party commissioning agents.
• Coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and project teams to keep work on track.
• Troubleshooting electrical issues and helping close out outstanding commissioning activities.
• Reviewing wiring diagrams, ladder logic and technical documentation.
• Ensuring work meets electrical safety requirements, industry standards and client specifications.
• Working with engineering teams to improve designs, resolve recurring issues and support successful project delivery.

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training in electrical systems, switchgear or commissioning.
• Experience with low‑voltage switchgear, remote power panels and power distribution units.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, control circuits and electrical safety.
• Experience with Level 2 installation verification, Level 3 start‑ups and Level 4 commissioning.
• Knowledge of factory and site acceptance testing.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and ladder logic.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to coordinate teams and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• NFPA 70 and OSHA 10 certifications.
• Flexibility to travel nationwide, with occasional international travel.

Additional experience with Modbus TCP/RTU, industrial Ethernet, Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe or Bluebeam would be an advantage.
