Hanley Energy Group seeks a Senior Low Voltage Switchgear Technician to join our Reno team. You will support the Electrical Lead Cx Engineer on AMER projects, attend commissioning meetings, and produce documentation for client and internal use.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical theory, control circuitry, and startup/commissioning capabilities, with travel to sites as needed and on-call support for critical product lines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in switchgear or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory and control circuits.
  • Experience with commissioning and startups of electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA70 standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Electrical Lead Cx technician on AMER projects.
  • Attend client commissioning and coordination meetings.
  • Produce documentation per company/customer procedures.
  • Provide technical support to clients and third parties.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
  • On-call support for critical product lines.
  • Report progress and coordinate with suppliers/ subcontractors.
  • Maintain records for customer supplied equipment.
  • Closeout punch lists coordinating with third parties.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement improvements.

We are looking for a Senior Low Voltage Switchgear Technician to join our team in Reno, Las Vegas.This role provides project support to the Lead Electrical Cx Engineer. Prior training and experience working with Critical Electrical Systems is essential for the role.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Electrical Lead Cx technician with assigned projects across AMER.Attend client commissioning and coordination meetings at various locationsProvide firsthand coordinated support to third-party commissioning agentsProduce documentation in accordance with company/customer proceduresProvide technical support to the client and third-party commissioning agentsComply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirementsHelp closeout punch list items on electrical equipment whilst coordinating with Third parties and Engineering.Travel to customer sites as requiredProvide on-call customer support for various critical product linesProduce accurate and regular reports on progress.Coordinate supplier and subcontracted personnel with site works.Coordinate with Clients for approval of work on live facilities.Coordinate with Engineering for continuous improvements in designs.Ensure internal records for Customer supplied equipment is maintained to a high standard.Record and document lessons learned and implement changes to reduce issues from reoccurring.Reports to the Electrical Lead Cx Technician.Technical/ Job Specific Skills Required:Work within a team environment, as well as independently. Be a self-starter to execute a variety of project functions efficiently and professionallyStrong understanding of Electrical theory and control circuits.Strong understanding of the hazards associated with electrical energyGood knowledge of MS Office 365 Suite (highly desirable)Industrial communications interfaces including Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU (desirable), Industrial EthernetTechnical documentation produced using PDF software such as Adobe or Bluebeam.Strong understanding of ladder logic and wiring diagrams.Demonstrating compliance to International Standards and Client Specifications.Experience:knowledge of Electrical Power Systems and Previous experience working in a regulated industry.Good knowledge of Mechanical Systems and working industry knowledge.Experience in Switchgear, Remote Power panels and Power Distribution Units.Knowledge and ability to execute Installation verifications, Startups and Commissioning is a must.Review and Specification Development.Factory and Site Acceptance TestingThe ideal candidates will have:A minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience or equivalent training with a strong track record in driving implementation of product development projects, preferably in the switch gear industry.Strong project management and people management skills and a proven ability to manage and lead multi-functional teams to drive success of aProven ability to collaborate and work effectively with others in a dynamic matrix environment that includes interactions with multiple stakeholderStrong analytical, planning, organization and time management skills to effectively execute project plans and manage multipleProven ability to develop a team culture that leads to ongoing excellence and achievement ofEffective decision making skills; ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across diverse needs of multiple constituencies.
