Job summary

La Petite Academy in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Team Lead to guide classroom instruction and support families in a caring, inclusive environment.

You will promote children's growth, mentor new hires, and ensure daily care meets licensing standards while handling leadership duties when Directors are absent.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development or a CDA preferred.
• Ability to meet state/accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children and lead classroom management and curriculum implementation.
• Communicate and build relationships with families to support child achievement and center success.
• Mentor and assist with training and supporting new hires and fellow teachers.
• Take on leadership duties in the absence of Director or Assistant Director, including opening/closing the center.
• Ensure daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines and company standards.

As a Team Lead, you are a:

• Teacher! Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children in your care. Take the lead on classroom management and curriculum implementation. Classroom instruction is at least 50% of weekly schedule.
• Communicator! Communicate and build relationships with families to promote achievement for the child and to support your center’s success.
• Mentor! Be responsible for, or assisting with, the management, training, and mentoring of new hires and your fellow Teachers, as you create fun, interactive learning experiences to share with the preschool children.
• Leader! Take on the duties of Director or Assistant Director in his/her absence, including opening and closing the school.
• Expert! Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.

We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have:

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA, preferred.
