Job summary

Benchmark Human Services in Manchester, AL is seeking a Team Lead to support individuals’ services, safety, and personal goals. The Team Lead will perform all DSP functions and assist the Residential Manager in ensuring high-quality care and safety.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, coordinating training, managing schedules, documentation, and health/medication coordination as needed. The role offers growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with DSP training, support, and supervision.
• Support program and house orientation functions.
• Support staff training and shadowing of new hires.
• Provide ongoing coaching and role modeling for staff.
• Assist with staff meetings and scheduling per Plan of Care.
• Assist in documenting, reviewing, and tracking program and individual documentation.
• Coordinate basic medication and healthcare coordination functions.
• Ensure the individual's home is safe, clean, and well-maintained.

The Team Lead will perform all the functions of a DSP and assists the Residential Manager in ensuring quality of services provided, health and safety of the individuals served, and DSP training, support, and supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist with DSP training, support, and supervision.
• Support of program and house specific orientation functions
• Support of staff training
• Mentorship of new staff during shadowing period
• Ongoing coaching and role modeling for staff
• Support of staff meetings
• Help develop and manage staffing schedule in accordance with Plan of Care.
• Assist with management of program and individual documentation as required
• Completion, collection, review, submission, and/or tracking of documentationAssist with individual medication and healthcare coordination functions
• Assist in finances
• Responsible for ensuring that the individual’s home is safe, clean and in good repair.
• Monitor proper diet, meal planning and shopping
• Ensure that monthly safety drills are conducted
• Assisting in crisis situations
• Must report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
