Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is looking for a dedicated Team Leader for our group home in Farmingdale, NJ. This role involves supervising and mentoring staff while managing individual needs and ensuring a safe environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of management experience.
• Experience working with the developmentally disabled population.
• At least 2 years working in direct care.
• Reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute doctor's appointments for individuals served.
• Assist in crisis situations and staffing coverage.
• Mentor and teach Direct Support Professionals.
• Monitor individuals' spending and meal plans.
• Document goals and progression of individuals served.
• Assist in community activities.

Team Leader Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3PM - 11PM

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute individual served doctor's appointments
• Assist in crisis situations
• Assist in coordinating staffing coverage
• Mentor/teach Direct Support Professionals how to work with individuals served
• Monitor individuals served spending money
• Monitor proper diet and meal plan of person served
• Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities
• Ensuring a safe and clean home for people served
• Develop a positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
• Assists the Program Coordinator in supervising, supporting and training DSP's
• Document data displaying the individual served goals and progression
• Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
• Participate in on-going professional training

Qualifications

• At least one year of management experience
• Experience working with developmentally disabled population
• At least 2 years working in direct care
• Reliable transportation
• Valid auto insurance and driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
