KNOW THE ROLE

As a Team Lead, you will support the Department Manager in the daily coordination of floor activity while helping to drive team performance, deliver excellent service, and maintain high operational standards. This is a hands-on leadership role that serves as a development platform for future management.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience Support

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service

  • Support the team in resolving customer queries and processing returns effectively

Team Coordination & Coaching

  • Assist in conducting team briefs and daily planning alongside the Department Manager

  • Delegate tasks effectively and support team motivation and morale

  • Identify performance strengths and gaps, offering on-the-spot coaching and feedback

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the department is trading efficiently with accurate pricing, clean stock handling, and merchandising standards upheld

  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures on the floor

  • Escalate operational or staffing concerns to the Department Manager as appropriate

  • Support the Department Manager with ad hoc administrative duties as required to ensure smooth daily operations

Service & Culture Champion

  • Embed company values into day-to-day interactions with both customers and team

  • Maintain open and effective communication within the department

  • Take initiative in suggesting improvements in processes or team dynamics

Security & Health & Safety

  • Act as a role model for compliance with store security and H&S procedures

  • Alert management to any security risks, incidents, or training needs

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support collaboration with functions such as Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations by sharing relevant insights and feedback from the shop floor

  • Assist in the execution of store-wide initiatives, events, or promotions in coordination with other departments

  • Build relationships with internal teams to support smooth day-to-day operations and gain broader business understanding

Commercial Awareness

  • Demonstrate an understanding of daily and weekly sales performance, supporting the Department Manager in identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities

  • Apply basic commercial knowledge on the floor by linking selling activity, product placement, and service behaviours to sales results
