Job summary

GNS North America seeks a 3rd shift Production Lead to oversee forklift-equipped material flow on the shop floor and uphold safety, quality, and productivity standards.

You will supervise a team, coordinate material movement, train operators, perform daily forklift inspections, and support Lean/5S initiatives to reduce downtime.

This role requires strong teamwork, problem-solving, and adherence to company policies; overtime and weekend work may be required based on demand.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Proven ability to lead a production team on a fast-paced floor.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and Lean/5S principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production floor activities, ensuring safe material flow and meeting production goals.
• Coordinate movement of raw materials, finished goods, parts, and supplies across the floor.
• Operate forklifts to transport materials between departments and shipping locations.
• Ensure loads are secured and placed properly; monitor compliance with safety procedures.
• Train, coach, and support team members on forklift operation and safe work practices.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues.
• Assist with inventory control, including stocking and pulling parts for production.
• Support production tasks like moving dies and preparing work areas.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve processes; support Lean initiatives.
