What’s the role?

As a DevOps Team Lead at Modern Campus, you will oversee the operations, management, and automation of our client production environments hosted on Amazon AWS. You will guide core infrastructure transition initiatives, such as containerization, deployment modernization, and platform enhancements.

You will serve as a senior technical mentor, reinforce best practices, and ensure strategic alignment. This hands-on role requires strong engineering skills combined with leadership, acting as a bridge between infrastructure and application development, applying SRE principles for production readiness and operational excellence.

You should demonstrate sound judgment, ownership, and a proactive approach, collaborating across DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams, and contributing to the DevOps roadmap.

Responsibilities:

1. Ownership of daily production operations, employing SRE principles to detect, resolve, and prevent issues, working closely with development teams.
2. Manage escalations, alerts, client requests, cross-team communication, and task assignments related to production.
3. Mentor and lead DevOps team members through pairing, reviews, and support.
4. Participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery forecasting.
5. Guide infrastructure transition efforts, including containerization and platform modernization.
6. Influence DevOps strategy, balancing stability, performance, and developer velocity.
7. Promote best practices in infrastructure, deployment, and operations.
8. Ensure cloud infrastructure uptime per SLA, and participate in on-call rotations.

What you offer…

**Competencies:**
- 6+ years in infrastructure/DevOps, with 2+ years in a senior/lead role.
- Experience designing and implementing AWS infrastructure.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred), automation tools, scripting.
- Linux administration expertise.
- Knowledge of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Java, PHP, Python, Apache, Tomcat.
- Support and incident management skills.
- Experience with CI/CD, observability tools, agile frameworks.
- Strong communication, mentorship, and leadership skills.
