Base pay range

$34.00/hr - $49.00/hr

Role Overview

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities. It offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, emergency care, and ambulance services.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose: Under the direction of the manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates, and documents the nursing process of the assigned unit.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establish consults with the interprofessional team as appropriate.
  • Leads development and implementation of complex individual care plans with defined goals, in collaboration with the interprofessional team, the patient, family, or caregiver, following established standards of nursing care. Ensures care plans reflect expert clinical knowledge, anticipate barriers, and incorporate input to improve patient outcomes.
  • Utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence-based practices, participates in journal clubs, facilitates practice changes, recommends standards, and disseminates new knowledge from conferences or education. Supports nursing practice advancement and community health initiatives.
  • Analyzes practice standards gaps and provides feedback to peers to enhance safe patient care. Evaluates patient and family experience and adjusts care to improve satisfaction and quality.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 2-5 years
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 5-10 years
