United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) is seeking a Maintenance Technician Team Leader for our Michigan campus. You will guide a skilled team responsible for carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and more across nearly 2 million square feet of office space.

The role requires 3 years of facilities or construction leadership, strong communication, and hands-on expertise. Normal hours are Mon–Fri with possible nights, holidays, and weekends as needed. Join a thriving, expansive workplace.

• Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Building Engineers on tasks across the campus.
• Lead maintenance team for carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Prioritize workload and communicate timelines to stakeholders.
• Schedule routine maintenance and identify needed work.
• Respond to service requests with courteous, high-quality support.
• Assist team members, vendors, and visitors as needed.
• Prepare for emergencies in each building.
• Work Monday–Friday; may include nights, holidays, weekends.
• Maintain safety procedures and perform duties safely.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician Team Leader is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to the maintenance and repair of our state-of-the-art corporate campus. We are looking for someone with 3 years of facilities or commercial construction leadership. Your knowledge and skills will be tested and developed leading a team of skilled maintenance technicians that are responsible for carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and more across nearly 2 Million square feet of commercial office space.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Coordinate with Building Engineers on tasks throughout the building

• Lead team in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and painting

• Prioritizing workload for team, ensuring proper communication with stakeholders and timelines for completion

• Being proactive scheduling and maintain routine maintenance, as well as identifying work that needs to be done

• Providing courteous, high-quality service to team members by personally responding to requests for service

• Providing any needed assistance to team members, vendors, and visitors

• Preparedness on any emergency situations in each building

• Monday through Friday hours, however, may be required to work nights, days, holidays and weekends

• Meeting the physical requirements of the job and the ability to work in the environmental conditions listed below to perform common Team Leader functions and duties

• Performing all duties in a safe manner, following all safety procedures

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of commercial carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
• Construction background
• Team Lead experience
• Knowledgeable use of tools of the trade required
• Meet all legal requirements to be able to work in the United States
• Must demonstrate good moral fitness and ethical standards
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with team members, vendors and the public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner

• Make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures

• Must be detailed oriented and have satisfactory literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities. Must be proficient at computer based programs in Microsoft and web-based platforms

Meet minimum requirements set by insurer to drive a company vehicle:

• No moving traffic violations in the past 3 years. No at fault accidents in the past 3 years
• Have not had driver's license denied, suspended or revoked in the last 3 years
• No driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUI) convictions in the past 3 years
