Job summary

Goodwill-Industries-of-Kentucky is seeking a Production Clerk to work with donated goods, handling collection, processing, stocking, and sales duties at our Middlesboro location in Kentucky. You may operate a cash register and assist with store recovery operations as part of daily tasks.

The role requires basic math, reliable transportation, and the ability to work a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends. Prior experience in customer service is valued.

Job Description

A Production Clerk will work in the collection, processing, stocking, and sale of used goods. Production Clerk’s will process raw donations from donors and prepare for movement to the retail sales floor. Production Clerk’s will also occasionally operate a cash register and perform store recovery operations.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

• Displays great customer service by greeting donors and customers; offers assistance.
• Offers receipts and informational fliers as set by operating guidelines.
• Keeps areas clean, including inside and outside grounds around store and ADC’s.
• Operates cash register.
• Sorts material as required and stocks material in stores.
• Maintains categories and quality of goods.
• Rotates stock as needed.
• Prices material when instructed to do so.
• Assists in providing direction and modeling of job duties to other Production Clerks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

• May serve as a coach in one-on-one training with a Production Clerk(s).
• Must possess versatility, discretion, and ability to work with a variety of diverse people.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Education/Specialized Knowledge Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Must have basic math skills, ability to make change, complete paperwork in a timely manner.

Physical and Work Condition Requirements:

• This job may have physical requirements that considered light to medium work. Light to medium work involves sitting for short periods of time; frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity, frequently lifting/pushing/pulling 10-20 pounds, and occasionally pushing/pulling 20-50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to perform material handling with few restrictions, works with minimal supervision.
• Must have the ability to work a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location is not required.
