Job summary

Goodwill-Industries-of-Kentucky in Lexington, KY is seeking a Production Clerk to assist in the collection, processing, stocking, and sale of donated goods. You will process raw donations and prepare items for movement to the retail floor, with occasional cash register use and store recovery tasks.

You will help maintain textile categories, stock areas, and merchandising guidelines, greet donors and customers, and support overall store operations while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills relevant to making change.
• Ability to perform material handling with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Follows all defined safety absolutes.
• Greet donors and customers with good customer service.
• Process raw donations into sellable merchandise.
• Hang textiles according to procedures.
• Keep areas clean inside and outside the store.
• Sort and stock material in stores.
• Maintain textile category, sizing and quality on the sales floor.
• Arrange shoes, media and accessories on the sales floor.
• Rotate stock per guidelines and recover product on the floor.
• Prepare material for transportation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

A Production Clerk will work in the collection, processing, stocking, and sale of used goods. Production Clerk's will process raw donations from donors and prepare for movement to the retail sales floor. Production Clerk's will also occasionally operate a cash register and perform store recovery operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Follows all defined safety absolutes.
• Displays great customer service by greeting donors and customers.
• Processes raw donations into sellable merchandise.
• Hang Textile garments according to established procedures
• Keeps areas clean, including inside and outside the store.
• Sorts material as required and stocks material in stores.
• Maintains textile category, sizing and quality of goods on the retail sales floor.
• Arranges shoes, media and accessory items on the retail sales floor.
• Rotates stock in accordance with defined guidelines
• Recovers product on sales floor to ensure established merchandising guidelines
• Prepares material for transportation.
• Performs other duties as assigned,

Requirements

• Ability to pick up, handle, inspect and sort varieties of textile and houseware items.
• Ability to lift/carry 30 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Must follow all safety procedures and correct safety issues, if possible.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
