Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a field eligible for professional licensure.
  • Active professional licensure in the assigned program area as required by VA Code.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience with mental health and/or substance use diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, oversight and delivery of program service areas.
  • Markets program services to the community; maintains program records; analyzes program success; oversees clinical contract services.
  • Approves diagnostic evaluations, screenings to ascertain risk level and comprehensive assessments to determine intervention needs.
  • Provides clinical supervision to staff and may supervise Residents or supervisees toward licensure.
  • Ensures effective use of evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions and conducts quality assurance reviews.
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation to staff daily.

Introduction

The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Team Coordinator within the ACCESS Program. Job Summary

The Same Day Access clinic serves as an entry point for individuals seeking behavioral health services by providing assessment, evaluation, information, referral and care coordination. The clinic promotes continuity of care by facilitation referrals, reducing barriers to services, and ensuring individuals are linked to the level of care most appropriate to their identified needs.

  • Under direction of the designated supervisor and within the scope of the clinical license, provides and assures appropriate diagnostic, preventive and treatment services. Population served may include minors, adolescents, and adults experiencing cognitive, social-emotional, or developmental delays, Youth At Risk, adolescents with Serious Emotional Disturbance, individuals with Substance Use Disorders, and/or adults with Serious Mental Illness.
  • Provides leadership, oversight and delivery of program service areas; markets program services to the community; maintains program records; and analyzes program success; oversees and manage clinical contract services in compliance with local, state and federal grants guidelines.
  • Approves diagnostic evaluations, screenings to ascertain risk level to self/others and/or comprehensive assessments to determine intensity, frequency, and duration of interventions.
  • Provides clinical supervision to staff, performs supervisory responsibilities and may oversee the work of Behavioral Health Therapists I, Assessment and Evaluation Specialists, and/or Peer Specialist, and may oversee the clinical work of interns, and/or may enter into contracts with applicable licensing boards to provide clinical supervision towards licensure for Residents or Supervisees.
  • Ensures effective use of evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions, the efficiency of the program, and conducts quality assurance reviews including co-signing clinical documentation.
  • Provides assistance and consultation to staff providing crisis intervention and stabilization to individuals with acute and high-risk symptoms daily.

Hiring salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in a field eligible for professional licensure and hold active professional licensure in the assigned program area as required by VA Code and two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, which includes internship experience.

Preferred
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking and multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as part of a clinical team.
  • Formal training in treating substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Knowledge of Certified Pre-Admission Screening (CPAS), Temporary Detention Orders (TDOs), and Emergency Custody Orders (ECOs).
  • Previous clinical supervisory experience.
Job Contingencies And Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.

Special Requirements
  • Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week and requires flexibility to include evening hours and to respond to emergency management situations
  • Must be fitted for N-95 (or similar) mask to safely provide on-site services as needed
