Job summary

INW: Innovations in Nutrition + Wellness in Ogden, UT is seeking a Maintenance/Production Supervisor to lead maintenance on production lines, implement Lean initiatives, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role emphasizes coaching teams, optimizing equipment, upholding SOPs and GMPs, and collaborating with management to meet daily KPIs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred with technical training in maintenance manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with One Point Lesson Plans, Standard Work Instruction and other visual management tools.
  • Lean experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both verbal and written formats.
  • Must understand, speak, read and write in English to perform essential functions.

  • Motivate team members to achieve daily goals and KPI’s.
  • Coach and develop line associates to improve performance.
  • Set up lines for production orders.
  • Maintain line equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Recommends equipment purchases to improve operations.
  • All other duties as assigned and needed.

  • Understand standards and make good decisions in critical situations
  • Design and implement measurement systems to easily track and document productivity of production lines.
  • Play an active role in company lean initiatives
  • Maintain line equipment and trouble shoot mechanical problems.
  • Set up lines for production orders.
  • Support corporate ethics and standards, by example, and by directive.
  • Sets daily, weekly, and monthly goals; measures progress and reviews with management regularly
  • Assures that the operation is compliant with the SOP’s, proposed GMP’s, and those procedures are adequately documented.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
  • Engage in proper use, care, and documentation of equipment and materials issued in work area.
  • Recommends equipment purchases to improve operations, i.e. reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead-times, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements

  • Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Ability to effectively present information to upper management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORK CONDITIONS
  • Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
  • Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required and all personnel protective equipment is required.
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, powders, dust and other particles.
