Responsibilities

• Assemble components; verify fit; fasten parts and subassemblies; set correct dimensions.
• Measure completed components using scale, dynascope, calipers, and micrometers.
• Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship.
• Record measurements and production data on routers/paperwork.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; follow procedures.
• Work as part of a team to assemble products; resolve issues with group leader.
• Lift up to 30 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB/OPERATION ELEMENTS

• Prepares work to be completed by reading assembly instructions and drawings; gathers all materials needed to complete job and verifies that the correct components were pulled and are available at their workstations.


• Assembles components by examining for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies; sets correct dimensions


• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components using scale, dynascope, calipers, and micrometers.


• Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product.


• Measure parts at beginning, middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router.


• Follows all product handling procedures; handles product with care.


• Works as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product.


• Resolves assembly problems by notifying group leader or supervisor who then obtains additional resources when needed.


• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules and regulations.


• Documents actions by completing production forms and routers/paperwork.


• Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related goals and results as needed


• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.


• Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High School or GED or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE:

• Requires 3 – 6 months of assembly or subassembly experience. Good hand eye dexterity. Good communications skills both written and orally. Must be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances on finished product.
