Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a joint Assistant Teaching Professor position with the Program for Writing and Rhetoric (PWR) and the College of Arts & Sciences Residential Academic Program (A&S RAP).

The successful candidate will teach first‑year composition and lower and upper‑division courses, contribute to the Interdisciplinary Writing Certificate, and engage in initiatives across digital literacies and inclusive pedagogy.

Qualifications

• PhD in Rhetoric and Composition or MA with 5 years of higher education teaching by Aug 1, 2027.
• Experience teaching environmental rhetorics, rhetorics of science, and digital literacies.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching, research or service.

Responsibilities

• Teach small (~20) seminar-style first-year courses in RAP coordinated with PWR.
• Teach lower- and upper-division courses in RAP and PWR up to 19 students.
• Develop cocurricular activities to enrich classroom experience and community.
• Participate in departmental and college service and broader campus initiatives.
