Job summary

The University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Writing Studies in the Department of Culture, Arts, and Communication within SIAS. This is a full-time 9-month position with a Sept 16 start, initial three-year term, and potential for renewal.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Composition/Rhetoric or a related field.
• A PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Composition/Rhetoric or a related field is also acceptable.
• Expertise in lower-division composition curriculum development and student engagement, and at least three years of college or university teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower-division rhetoric and composition courses (e.g., TCORE 101; TWRT 100-200 level courses; TWRT 120/121; TWRT 211).
• Engage in scholarly and professional activities to support teaching, including pedagogy development and dissemination.
• Perform service on school and campus committees and mentor students.
