Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
  • High command of the subject matter, especially structural engineering.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills appropriate to the position.
  • College-level teaching experience or graduate teaching assistant experience.
  • Experience teaching structural engineering and managing a Master's program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach structural mechanics and design courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Prepare well-organized course plans and deliver courses clearly to students.
  • Participate in curricular development and course redesign.
  • Mentor students inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support equity, diversity, and social justice within the campus.
  • Maintain a positive student teaching evaluation record.
  • Participate in ongoing professional activities in one's discipline.
  • Manage the department's 1-year Master's degree program.
