Job summary

Community Consolidated School District 59 in Des Plaines, IL seeks a Teaching Assistant to provide individual instruction under the classroom teacher's guidance. The role supports activities for children, helps staff with tasks, and maintains a clean, safe classroom.

The position pays $19–$20 per hour, with IMRF pension participation and paid holidays, time off, and medical/dental benefits. 7.0 hours per day, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively and compassionately with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to utilize technology for email communications, calendar appointments, record keeping, etc.
• Must hold or be willing to acquire substitute teacher license.
• Oral and written fluency in English.
• Spanish or Polish language skills are a plus.

Terms Of Employment

• Hours Per Day: 7.0
• Start/End Times: 8:30a - 4:00p
• Compensation: Teaching Assistant - Type 1, $18.96 - $20.21 (Like experience considered)
• Participates in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension fund (reciprocal pension with TRS)
• Eligible for paid holidays, time off benefits, and medical/dental insurance benefits
