Job summary

The Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a 9‑month, non‑tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Crop Science and Environmental, Soil, and Water Sciences, with assignments CSES 12003, CSES 21033, ENSC 10003, CSES 23002, and production courses on Arkansas crops.

They will contribute to first‑year student experience, curriculum design, advising, and recruiting;

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in crop science, soil science, weed science, agronomy, environmental science, or closely related field by date of appointment.
  • Demonstrated college‑level teaching experience in crop science, plant science, soil science, environmental science, or related area.
  • Experience teaching both lecture and lab courses.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (Blackboard/Canvas) and instructional tech.
  • Ability to advise undergraduate students and collaborate with faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Crop Science and ESWS as part of the department curriculum.
  • Contribute to curriculum management, development, and assessment; participate in program reviews.
  • Assist with undergraduate advising, honors advising, and student club advisement; participate in recruitment activities.
