Job summary

East Greenbush Central School District is seeking two full-time probationary tenure-track Teaching Assistants and four part-time Teaching Assistants. The full-time roles are 6.5 hours per day, 10 months per year, while the part-time positions are 3.5 hours per day, 10 months per year.

Positions involve working with students to support curriculum understanding, social-emotional needs, and use of assistive technology. Certification in NYS Teaching Assistant or Classroom Teacher is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid New York State Teaching Assistant or Classroom Teacher Certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with students or groups to support understanding of the curriculum.
• Assist with social-emotional and management needs of students.
• Support students with ADLs and self-help skills, or with assistive technology/augmentative communication devices.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring for re-teaching and review.
• Assist with classroom management and implement behavior management plans; provide instructional assistance in labs or classrooms under supervision of a teacher.
