Job summary

The Niskayuna Central School District is seeking a probationary track Teaching Assistant at Niskayuna High School. The position runs ten months per year, at 32.5 hours per week, supporting classroom instruction and student needs.

Qualified applicants will have a New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred; exceptional candidates without certification may be considered for employment as a Substitute Teaching Assistant for up to 40 school days while certification is pursued.

• Workshops in Child Abuse Identification, School Violence, and DASA (Dignity for All Students) completed or in progress.

The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a probationarytrack Teaching Assistant.

ASSIGNMENT: Niskayuna High School; 10 months per year; 32.5 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred. Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a Substitute Teaching Assistant (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained. Minimum requirements for certification include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• New York State Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills (ATAS) test
• Completion of workshops in: Child Abuse Identification, School Violence, and Dignity for All Students (DASA)
