Teaching Assistant, Child Development Center

Position Overview

Start a rewarding career in early childhood education as a Part-Time Teaching Assistant at the Child Development Center. We offer professional development, training, and a supportive environment. Teaching Assistants work Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm in an assigned classroom, collaborating with experienced educators to create a positive environment for children and adults.

Schedule
  • Monday through Friday, 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm OR 8:30 am to 1:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Create a positive, warm, and nurturing environment for children that encourages inquiry and open-ended thought.
  • Treat children with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Support teachers through lesson plan implementation, daily cleaning, and supervising children.
  • Maintain compliance with NAEYC and KDHE requirements in classrooms.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and other team members.
  • Communicate professionally with administrative staff.
  • Display professionalism through dress and attitude.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma required; experience in early childhood education preferred.
Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, carrying, and repetitive motions (2-5 hours per shift). Occasional sitting, lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling, climbing, and stooping/crouching (up to 2 hours per shift).
