Job description

Cumberland Valley School District is currently recruiting to fill a full time (7.5 hrs/day) Teacher’s Assistant position. Each employee working within the Teacher’s Assistant role will be responsible for supporting educators in the day-to-day functions of an assigned area within our educational team, as well as filling absences within their assigned building.

All job duties are coordinated and directed by a PA certified professional staff member. Responsibilities may include:

• Facilitating large group instruction and activities, from the provided plans, for students.
• Providing one-to-one or small group reinforcement of skills for students.
• Assisting students with notetaking, test preparation and assignment organization.

The successful candidate:

• Has completed at least 60 semester hours or the equivalent of courses at a regionally accredited college or university located in Pennsylvania OR has a least three years of experience as a paraprofessional in a school entity and is currently employed as a paraprofessional in a school entity
• Meets pre-employment requirements for background clearances, citizenship, and good moral character under the School Code and Child Protective Services Law
• Is at least 25 years of age

The selected individual must complete thirty (30) hours of training annually to maintain their Highly Qualified Status and continued professional development. The individual must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch and lift 40 pounds as having corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges.
