Job summary

Hunterdon Health is seeking a part-time Early Childhood Assistant to join a team caring for children ages 0-5 at our Flemington location. You will support a Lead Teacher, help implement monthly thematic units, supervise child groups, and maintain a clean, safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with feeding and personal care, and ensuring health and safety protocols. Prior experience in an early childhood setting is preferred, with required CPR/First Aid within 6 months of

• CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
• CHRI clearance or background checks as required.

Hiring Range: $17.00 - $21.25 Hourly

PositionSummary

Work with a team of teachers,assistant teachers, teacher aidesand volunteers to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment for children ages 0-5.

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to support a Lead in the management and supervision of a classroom environment.
• Support a Lead Teacher in the creation and implementation of a stimulating and age-appropriate curriculum for children.
• Supervises and guides children in safe play both indoors and outdoors.
• Maintains a clean environment and ensures all surfaces and toys are disinfected.
• Assist children with feeding, toileting, proper diaper changing requirements and personal care as appropriate.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required

Maintains the annual continuing education hour requirements in the designated fields of study as mandated by the Division of Children & Families' Office of Licensing.

1 – 3 years in an Early Childhood Care Center environment

License, Registry or Certification:

Obtains Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire, Obtains CARI & CHRI clearance
