Job summary

Summit Academy in Ohio seeks a Title One Teacher and/or Tutor to provide students with a quality educational program tailored to their abilities, growth, and personal characteristics. You will focus on targeted reading and math interventions under direct supervision to support academic success.

Responsibilities include Tier 2/3 interventions, benchmarking with STAR, scheduling Title One activities, parent notifications, and maintaining accurate progress logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required.
• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license required.
• Criminal background clearance from Ohio BCI&I or FBI required.
• Special education training preferred.
• Experience with diverse learners and students with disabilities.

• Rank students from most in need to least in need of Title One services.
• Administer STAR benchmarking and progress monitoring as required by the building.
• Complete Parent Notification meetings for Title One eligibility.
• Provide Parent Notification of Title One services.
• Develop a Title One schedule.
• Maintain a daily Time and Effort Log.
• Support parental involvement through meetings and Parent Newsletters.
• Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organization.
• Employ a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet student needs.
• Possess thorough knowledge of the subject matter being taught.
• Show interest in maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Be receptive to new instructional ideas and approaches.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
• Evaluate and report student progress on the approved reporting tool.
• Follow Summit Academy's Instructional Design and Teacher Handbook.

This job operates in a professional school environment and routinely uses standard office and classroom equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license
• Appropriate criminal background clearance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation
• Special education training preferred
• Experience with diverse learners and students with disabilities
