  • Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher.
  • Provide instruction and meaningful learning activities that support students' academic growth.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
  • Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions, recess, lunch, and other assigned activities.
  • Uphold classroom rules, school policies, and expectations for student behavior.
  • Support and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith.
  • Participate in prayer, Mass, religious activities, and other faith-based activities as appropriate.
  • Treat every student with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.
  • Communicate important classroom or student concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
  • Complete any assigned classroom duties and leave the classroom organized for the returning teacher.
  • Follow all school safety, emergency, child protection, and supervision procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designated administrator.

Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher follows lesson plans, supervises students, manages classroom activities, and supports the academic, social, and spiritual mission of the Catholic school.
