Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis invites applications for a Substitute Teacher who will provide classroom instruction and supervision when the regular teacher is absent, maintaining a safe, faith-centered learning environment in accordance with school policies.

The successful candidate will follow lesson plans, support students in completing assigned work, supervise students, and contribute to the Catholic identity and mission of the school through respectful conduct and Christian values.

Qualifications

• Experience in classroom settings preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and school policies.
• Ability to work with diverse student groups.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Follow the lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher.

Provide instruction and support students in completing assigned work.

Maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.

Supervise students and enforce school policies and classroom expectations.

Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school through respectful conduct and interactions.

Encourage students to demonstrate Christian values such as respect, compassion, honesty, responsibility, and service.

Take attendance and communicate important classroom information to the regular teacher.

Maintain appropriate classroom routines and procedures.

Report significant student behavior, concerns, or incidents to the appropriate school administrator.

Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.

Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.

Job Requirements

Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively and work positively with students, faculty, staff

• Able to support all grade levels
