Report to: Principal/Special Education Director

Position Summary

Provides specialized instruction to support student learning and achievement by implementing differentiated instructional strategies, ensuring compliance with legal and district requirements, and fostering a positive, structured classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement differentiated instructional programs to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records; prepare reports in accordance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations.
  • Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines.
  • Utilize designated software systems to manage caseload documentation and required paperwork.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to high student achievement and equitable support for all learners.
  • Apply knowledge of subject matter to deliver effective and engaging instruction.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote critical thinking and student engagement.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Analyze student performance data and adjust instruction to improve outcomes.
  • Integrate available technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Promote positive student behavior using evidence-based practices, including behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
  • Establish, communicate, and enforce classroom rules, procedures, and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
