Job Description

POSITION: Teacher, Science (Biology)

LOCATION: Georgetown High School

SUPERVISOR: Principal

ANNUAL SALARY: Salary and benefits per Georgetown Education Association contract.

START DATE: as soon as possible

WORK YEAR: 184 days, the school year & professional development days

Ideal Candidate
  • Be energetic, motivated individual to work with collaboratively with the grade level team members.
  • Have a strong background in the content area.
  • Be passionate and enthusiastic educator who can motivate students to discover their creative potential.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in working with middle school students in a public school setting preferred
  • Knowledge of curriculum frameworks
  • Able to take direction from subject Supervisor
  • Able to work with High School students
  • Able to assess students and effectively plan instruction
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must.
  • Able to take direction from subject Supervisor
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certified in Massachusetts as High School Science teacher or Biology required.
SALARY & BENEFITS
  • Per agreement between the Georgetown School Committee and Georgetown Education Association.
  • Eligible for health insurance
  • Contractual sick days and personal days
