Job summary

NurturEd in Rhode Island seeks a Teacher's Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in a safe, nurturing classroom across hours.

You will engage children in reading and activities, help implement curriculum and assessments, and partner with families while using an electronic daily tracking app. Training provided; CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Our centers are open 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with full-time and part-time roles, offering benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Willing to train the right person.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• English literacy required; bilingual encouraged.

A Typical Day For a Teacher's Assistant Will Include

• Working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.

• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.

Hours & Locations

Our learning centers are open between 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island and offer full‑time and part‑time positions with flexible schedules available. Benefits vary for full‑time and part‑time positions.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16–18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English; bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass a national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).

Salary Description

$16 an hour
