Job summary

NurturEd Early Learning Center in Rhode Island is seeking a friendly, dependable Teacher's Assistant to support the Lead Teacher, help create a safe and nurturing classroom, and engage children in reading, play, and exploration.

The role offers full-time or part-time options with flexible schedules. Centers operate across RI and provide benefits including PTO, 401k with company match, holidays, tuition reimbursement, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has experience working with children.
• High school diploma or higher required; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engage with children in reading, play, and learning activities.

• Working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engaging with children in learning - reading, playing, and having fun!

• Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
• Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.
• Implementing curriculum and assessments.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). Benefits vary for full time / part time positions.

Requirements

We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

• Team-oriented and willing to work with others.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
