Teachers College is looking for a Teacher Resource Center Assistant. The Teachers College Resource Center Assistant will support the daily operation and development of the Teachers College Resource Center, a dedicated learning and workspace serving more than 1,000 pre-service teachers at Ball State University. The Resource Center provides aspiring teachers with no-cost access to high-quality instructional materials and welcoming spaces where they can prepare for field placements and student teaching, create and adapt classroom materials, collaborate with peers, study, and connect with others. The center includes a mock classroom, relaxation room, group meeting space, study rooms, and lounge.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the Resource Center during work activities.
Ability to lift and move boxes of instructional materials and supplies, as reasonably required.
Ability to use basic office, classroom, crafting, printing, and instructional-material preparation equipment.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
The position is based in the Teachers College Resource Center and involves regular interaction with pre-service teachers, faculty, staff, and other members of the Ball State University community. The position will work in a collaborative environment designed to support future educators as they prepare for classroom teaching and field experiences.
This position will play an important role in ensuring that pre-service teachers have access to the materials, resources, workspace, and support they need to develop effective classroom experiences. By helping students create and access instructional materials at no cost, the Resource Center Assistant will contribute directly to the preparation and professional development of Ball State's future educators.
