Job summary

Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) seeks a Preschool Teacher for its NEW Hight Family Early Learning Center in Skowhegan, ME. The role serves children 3-5 in a full day/year setting, located at the Hight Center inside the Margaret Chase Smith Community School.

The candidate will join a team delivering early care and education, with emphasis on school readiness, family collaboration, and adherence to ME PreK curriculum. A Bachelors in ECE and Maine 081 certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 081 certification from Maine Department of Education.
• Experience in group care for 3- to 5-year-olds.
• Ability to meet background checks, fingerprinting and licensing requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication and documentation skills.

Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire a Preschool Teacher at our NEWHight Family Early Learning Center in Skowhegan.

The Hight Center, located within the Margaret Chase Smith Community School, provides early care and education to children ages 0 to 5. This position is in our Preschool wing working with children ages 3-5. This is a full day/full year position.

Responsibilities

• Working within a team to support children’s developmental progress and school readiness
• Supporting child assessment
• Individualizing for diverse learners
• Supporting the implementation of PreK for ME Curriculum

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• 081 certification from Maine Department of Education
• Preferred coursework/cross-training in human services/family systems
• Experience in a group care setting for children ages 3-5
• Able to meet requirements of agency & State of Maine Child Care Licensing regulations for background checks, fingerprinting, and physical exams
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication (written & verbal) and documentation skills, critical thinking skills, proficient computer skills, and group management skills.
