Job summary

Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired is seeking a full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Burlington, Vermont. This role involves conducting vision assessments, providing braille instruction, and supporting children with visual impairments.

With a supportive team of TVIs, you will also conduct lessons in the Expanded Core Curriculum, assist families, and collaborate with service providers. The position includes moving expenses, bonuses for tenure, and professional development support.

Qualifications

Job Description

While living in a beautiful state with a great supportive group of TVI's you will work as anitinerant, full-time, TVI responsible for vision assessments, braille instruction, assistivetechnology, consultation to schools, families and other service providers. You willprovide direct instruction in the areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum and in otherskills related to working with children from birth through high school population with andwithout additional disabilities. For those who are dually certified as TVI/COMS thiswould also include O&M lessons for children.

• $1000 in moving expenses with receipts
• $2000 bonus for staying through the second year
• $1000 bonus for staying through the third year
• $800 annually toward professional development opportunities
• $175 annually toward professional dues
