Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired / Orientation & Mobility Instructor to provide vision support services across Chester County and surrounding areas. The role includes direct O&M instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and collaboration with families, teachers, and LEA representatives.

The position requires PA TVI certification, ACVREP O&M certification, and proper background clearances; Master’s degree preferred.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
• PA Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification required.
• Orientation & Mobility, ACVREP Certification required.
• Background checks: police, child abuse and FBI fingerprints.
• Clearance as an MA provider by PA and federal government upon hire.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct functional vision assessments.
• Consult with families to understand student strengths and travel needs.
• Consult with school personnel to ensure safe travel supports/accommodations.
• Provide direct O&M instruction based on IEP goals.
• Develop O&M IEP goals including public transport and community travel.
• Conduct O&M assessments for children with visual impairments referred by the educational team.
