Provide high-quality instruction to students and work collaboratively with the school leader, colleagues, students, parents, and the board to accomplish or surpass the academy's articulated educational goals. Work as a collaborative team member to implement the academy curriculum and achieve short- and long-term academic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; develop and enforce classroom behavior rules; collaborate on school-wide behavior management initiatives.
2. Plan and deliver lessons aligned with state and school curriculum standards, meeting individual student needs and goals.
3. Develop and review lesson plans; collaborate with instructional coaches to improve teaching quality; participate in curriculum alignment activities.
4. Collaborate with special education staff to support students with special needs; participate in IEP meetings; implement accommodations and modifications.
5. Work with staff to implement programs that accelerate learning for diverse student needs, including special education and English language learners.
6. Maintain accurate student records, ensure confidentiality, and comply with regulatory documentation requirements.
7. Communicate regularly with parents, encourage parental involvement, and be available outside normal hours.
8. Engage in professional development activities to maintain teaching credentials and stay current in educational practices.
9. Identify and communicate instructional resource needs; participate in school teams and initiatives.
10. Participate in extracurricular activities such as coaching, clubs, or tutoring.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• State teacher licensure/certification with appropriate endorsements.
• Bachelor’s degree with subject area emphasis or relevant coursework/experience; non-certified applicants must develop a plan to become highly qualified.
• Commitment to student success and achievement.
• Proven proficiency in teaching or tutoring, with experience in student and parent relations.
