Job summary

Christian Children's Home of Ohio seeks a Classroom Teacher to deliver an educational program at the Envision Academy classroom at Safe Harbor. The role emphasizes math proficiency across grades 7–12 and adherence to state standards.

Candidates must hold an Ohio teaching license; classroom experience is preferred, with a focus on middle/high school instruction and crisis-management training. This on-site position offers health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Maintain active Ohio Department of Education Teaching license, general education.
• Classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching middle and high school students strongly preferred (7–12).
• Must maintain compliance/certification with Safe Crisis Management (SCM), including physical ability to respond to crisis.

Job description

Take your passion for teaching to help kids from hard places learn and grow! The Classroom Teacher is to develops the student's skills, knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciations, and attitudes that will promote the fullest possible development and assist him/her in valuing the dignity and worth of himself/herself and others. He/she provides, within the classroom, educational program for the students and may assist in other programs within Christian Children's Home of Ohio. While this position is employed by the Christian Children's Home of Ohio, the teaching classroom will be located at the Envison Academy classroom at Safe Harbor.
Proficiency in math at all grade levels is strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Maintain active Ohio Department of Education Teaching license, general education.

• Must be able to maintain compliance/certification with CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis.

• Attends staff meetings, gives feedback week for Weekly Program Reviews, and responds to appropriate emails.
• Listens to and communicates skillfully with students, staff, and leadership.
• Supports the purpose of the school through/with other staff members and maintains a high expectation of students, oneself, and other professionals.
• Encourages and supports learning by displaying a reinforcing personality including empathy, humor, and consistency.
• Promotes cooperation and team effort through shared successes.

This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all of the following: background checks (fingerprints required), drug test, reference checks, Department of Justice National sex offender search, Ohio (and other states of residence) Alleged Perpetrator Search, as well as other checks as required by our licensing agency.
