Job summary

The Christian Children's Home of Ohio seeks a Classroom Teacher to develop students' skills, knowledge, concepts, and attitudes, promoting dignity and worth in themselves and others.

The classroom will be located at the Envision Academy classroom at Safe Harbor. Proficiency in math at all grade levels is strongly preferred, and an active Ohio teaching license is required to teach middle and high school students (7–12).

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Ohio Department of Education teaching license.
• Classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching middle and high school students (grades 7–12) preferred.
• Must meet SCM Safe Crisis Management training requirements.

Job description

Take your passion for teaching to help kids from hard places learn and grow! The Classroom Teacher is to develops the student's skills, knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciations, and attitudes that will promote the fullest possible development and assist him/her in valuing the dignity and worth of himself/herself and others. He/she provides, within the classroom, educational program for the students and may assist in other programs within Christian Children' Home of Ohio. While this position is employed by the Christian Children' Home of Ohio, the teaching classroom will be located at the Envison Academy classroom at Safe Harbor.

Proficiency in math at all grade levels is strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Maintain active Ohio Department of Education Teaching license, general education.
• Classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching middle and high school students strongly preferred. (7-12)
• Must be able to maintain compliance/certification with CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis.

• Attends staff meetings, gives feedback week for Weekly Program Reviews, and responds to appropriate emails.

• Supports the purpose of the school through/with other staff members and maintains a high expectation of students, oneself, and other professionals.
