Teacher for beginner (18 months to 3 years) in Houston, TX, US

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

  • Montessori Certification for Infant/Toddler (AMI, AMS, or MACTE accredited preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children ages 18 months to 3 years
  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, especially in the Infant/Toddler stage
  • Knowledge of early childhood development (social, emotional, language, and motor skills)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
  • Warm, patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic attitude toward young children
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of working with toddlers (lifting, sitting on the floor, etc.)
Duties:
  • Create and implement a developmentally appropriate Montessori environment tailored to children ages 18 months to 3 years
  • Prepare and maintain a safe, beautiful, and orderly classroom that fosters independence and exploration
  • Support toileting, self-care routines, and daily transitions with consistency and respect
  • Observe and assess each child’s development and provide individualized guidance
  • Foster language development, grace and courtesy, and social-emotional growth
  • Encourage independence, concentration, and confidence in each child
  • Establish positive relationships with parents and communicate regularly regarding progress and development
  • Collaborate with colleagues on classroom continuity and school-wide events
  • Attend professional development and remain current on Montessori best practices
