The Opportunity: - First-grade Teacher
  • Deliver arts-integrated lesson plans in a way that captures the attention of students and keeps them occupied and excited about learning. Seek to improve instruction as measured by student results; "If students don't learn the way I teach, then I must change the way I teach so that students will learn."
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment for young learners.
  • Implement research-based, experiential, and multi-sensory instructional strategies tailored to kindergarten students.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and academic needs of individual students.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to inform and refine teaching practices.
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction and engage young learners.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and the school community to support each child's success.

  • Uphold classroom procedures and schoolwide policies to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Actively participate in professional learning communities and engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and align with schoolwide goals.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
  • Possess or be eligible for teacher licensure/certification in Delaware, preferably with endorsements in Early Childhood Education.
  • Strong foundation in child development and early learning principles.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to foster a love of learning in young children.
  • Skilled in classroom management, lesson planning, and fostering social-emotional growth.
  • Familiarity with multi-sensory instructional approaches and arts integration is a plus.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build partnerships with families and colleagues.
