Job summary

SST Alamo seeks a Teacher Fellow to provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent and support campus-wide duties. This role serves as a talent pipeline for future full-time teaching openings within the district.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (or actively pursuing) and eligibility for a teacher certification program. The position is Full-Time with normal work hours and a non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (or actively pursuing degree).
• Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives, using appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines
• Take attendance and complete required documentation
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
• Communicate with administration on coverage needs
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development
• Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
• Perform any other duties as assigned
