Job summary

Babilou Family US, including Heartworks schools, seeks a proactive Teacher Associate in Vermont to foster a safe, sustainable learning environment for children aged 0–5. You will plan daily lessons, guide the teaching team, and model environmentally responsible practices in collaboration with families and colleagues.

The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate practice, continuous reflection, and growth through trainings, conferences, and school partnerships.

Qualifications

• At least twenty (20) years of age and a high school diploma or GED.
• One of the following Vermont credentials: Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 3 certificate; associate degree in Early Childhood/Child Development; Certificate from Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program; Child Care Certificate with 12 months experience with groups of children age 3 or younger; or 21 college credits with early childhood focus and 12 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement daily lesson plans and learning experiences aligned with developmentally appropriate practice and sustainable education.
• Lead classroom organization and routines promoting environmental responsibility and mindful material use.
• Model best teaching practices and ensure high‑quality instructional delivery.
• Supervise children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor exploration, reporting concerns as required by law.
• Engage families with professional communication and involve them in conferences and community opportunities.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and collaborate with staff on curriculum and sustainability initiatives.
• Coach Assistant Teachers in instructional practices and environmentally responsible classroom routines.
