Job summary

Babilou Family US is seeking a proactive Teacher Associate in Vermont to create a safe, nurturing learning environment and deliver high‑quality curriculum. You will guide the teaching team, model sustainable practices, and engage families to foster trust and involvement.

The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate practice, ongoing professional development, and collaboration in a year‑round, Monday–Friday schedule to support children from birth to age five.

Qualifications

• Must be 20 years of age or older and a high school graduate or GED.
• Meets one of the listed Vermont child care qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Commitment to developmentally appropriate practice and sustainable education.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement daily lesson plans aligned with developmentally appropriate practice and sustainable education.
• Lead classroom organization and routines promoting environmental responsibility.
• Model best practices and ensure high‑quality instructional delivery.
• Supervise children during learning activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor exploration; report safety concerns.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with families through professional communication.
• Maintain required certifications and participate in sustainability‑focused professional development.
• Coach and support Assistant Teachers in instructional practices and environmental routines.

Education

Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three Certificate

Associate degree in Early Childhood/Child Development/Elementary Education with 12 months experience

Certificate of Completion from Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program

Child Care Certificate from Vermont CC with 12 months experience

21 college credits with early childhood focus and 12 months experience
