Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Warren, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Toddler/Preschool to support Lead Teachers within a warm Montessori setting. You’ll help children explore, grow, and build independence, providing warmth, encouragement, and guidance as they try new experiences and form friendships.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), a genuine love of children, and the physical ability to assist with activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.

8:00 am - 1:00pm OR

1:00 pm - 6:00pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity. As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:
