Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant for Toddler classrooms in Mahwah, NJ, with hours Monday to Friday 1:00pm–6:30pm. You will work with Lead Teachers to nurture children’s independence and curiosity in a Montessori setting.

You will help maintain a safe environment, support lesson plans, and communicate with families while fostering creativity, self-image, and social skills in young learners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Understanding health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task in a changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Teacher Assistant Toddler

Location: Mahwah, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday

1:00pm - 6:30 pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:
