Horizon Education Centers in Lorain, OH is seeking a Toddler Teacher Assistant to join East Lorain Childcare Center. Hours are 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, with pay ranging from $14.00 to $15.50 per hour. The role supports lead teachers in daily lessons and child supervision, helping create a nurturing learning environment for young children.

Full-time, hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Reports to Center Director.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong familiarity with lesson planning and implementation, Ohio Early Learning Content Standards using Creative Curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Lead Teacher to prepare and implement daily lesson plans and ensure high interaction with children.
• Care and supervision of children and classroom management per licensing standards.
• Work independently with a small group and as part of a team with other teachers and staff.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff with prompt, cheerful, professional attitude.
• Maintain a clean, safe and supportive learning environment centered on children's needs.
• Complete and document services such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required.
• Provide classroom support and assist with meal service as required.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• All other duties as needed/assigned.

Wage Information

Full-time hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour.

CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour

Reports to: Center Director

Job Description

• Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children
• Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
• Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
• Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
• Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children
• Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required
• Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
• All other duties as needed/assigned

QualificationsQualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a childcare setting are required
• Strong familiarity with lesson planning and implementation, incorporating all domains of the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards using Creative Curriculum is preferred
• Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
• We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
• Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
