Job summary

Lincoln County Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant / Sub Bus Driver for Pumpkin Center Primary in Lincolnton, NC. This dual-employment position is permanent/full-time for 10 months, 6 hours per day, with benefits including holidays, leave, retirement, and health coverage.

The role supports students and teachers, performing instructional, clerical, and transportation duties. Candidates must meet ESSA criteria and hold a valid NC CDL eligibility, with the ability to lift heavy loads and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and TB test prior to employment.
• Meet ESSA requirements: Associate’s degree or 60 college hours or WorkKeys passing scores.
• Valid NC driver’s license and driving record qualifying for a North Carolina CDL/NCCDL.
• Ability to obtain bus driver certification and comply with transportation safety regulations.
• Knowledge of effective methods for working with students and supporting instruction.
• Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students and teachers.
• Lead small group activities and reinforce lessons.
• Assist with clerical tasks and general housekeeping.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and on field trips.
• Operate a school bus safely for transport to and from activities.
